Artist Statement
I spent some time at The Banff Center for The Arts in Canada. This series ignited my interest in black and white charcoal drawing. These close up images of trees, plants, flowers, waterfalls, mountains and clouds all share a common thread of spirituality.....and how nature is all interconnected. Drawing out of doors helped me feel at one with the environment. Charcoal as a medium has also given me the vehicle to express the emotional content of the landscape.
